21st February is International Mother Language Day!
It’s an opportunity to celebrate the rich diversity of languages that we have in the school. Why not learn how to say ‘Hello’ in another language to mark the occasion!
Families may also be interested in the upcoming Mother Tongues festival which is Ireland’s first multilingual festival – info on https://mothertongues.ie/. Francesca from Mother Tongues came in to speak to parents and guardians as part of Human Rights month and her workshop on raising multilingual children was really excellent.
Language was an important aspect that came up again and again during our Self Expression Booth during Human Rights Month. You can check out the full video of these contributions below (and special thanks to our Spanish student teacher Maria who did the editing!)
